Nearly Complete

Ghost Conversations is in the final stages of preparation. The mixing is now nearly complete and a mastering date is set. I heard the album last night and it sounds amazing. Jim has done an outstanding job mixing it and has made this music sound new again to me.
New Project Progesses

My new project with Joe and Paul Kopecky is moving along with us currently trading ideas through the mail. At this point, we have some great foundations for quite a few songs. Over the next week or two, I will be working on adding Stick parts to some of Joe’s compositions and then the plan is to get together as a band and run through everything. More updates as this happens...

Still Mixing

Due to the holidays and scheduling, mixing continues on the Aziola Cry EP. Although I was originally hoping to have it completed by now, I’d rather spend the time to make it perfect. This week I was able to get together with Jim Siwek who is mixing the CD and I’d say things are at about 95 percent. I feel pretty confident at this point that it will be finished and released by next month.

New Gear Setup

It seems that I am constantly changing my gear around looking for the most ideal setup. I recently changed things again and so far I am very pleased with the results. I am now plugging my Stick directly into a Guitar POD XT Pro (melody side) and Bass POD XT Pro (bass side). From here both sides have an Echoplex Digital Pro Plus running through the effects loop of the PODs. This signal is then mixed into an SWR SM400S which I am using to power SWR speakers. Finally, I also use a Furman PL-Plus. While similar to my last setup, I have officially rid myself of the Rane Stick Preamp and brought back the Echoplexes which I was not using for most of the past year. Now I just have to test things out on stage.

Ghost Conversations Artwork

Below is the cover art for the upcoming Aziola Cry EP "Ghost Conversations". As mentioned before, all the paintings used for the album were done by Micka Klauck who also collaborated with the band on "Ellipsis". This particular piece is entitled "MummyForest" and comes from a collection of smaller paintings, some of which are also featured throughout the CD package. Dennis Ramirez F.ree T.hinkers M.ovement did the design work for the disc.

Mixing Time

At this point, the new Aziola Cry EP has been completely recorded with mixing soon to follow. I am really pleased with the results and can’t wait to get this music out there. The album artwork is also being assembled at the moment and should be complete soon. Once I have the album cover, I will post it both here and on the Aziola Cry website. Plans for 2007 are also slowly being made.
New Project

Since there is talk of one of my new projects in an interview, I might as well mention it here as well. I am currently writing music along with guitarist, Joe Kopecky from the band Kopecky. Right now the band is just in the enfant stage as we are both composing the music and no recording has been done to date. I’m excited to be working with Joe along with his brother Paul on drums and hopefully recording this music sometime next year. You can read the interview with Joe where he mentions the project at Music Street Journal

Ghost Conversations

With all shows for the year done, I am spending my time right now finishing up the new Aziola Cry EP. Recording is pretty much complete with the exception of one more session where we will be adding a few additional overdub type parts. Artwork is also complete and once again will feature the paintings of Micka Klauck. That leaves mixing and mastering which I hope to have complete by the end of the year. The plan as it stands is to release the disc first thing in 2007. The name of the album will be "Ghost Conversations" and the song titles are simply "Ghost Conversations Pts 1-3". More information on the story behind the album will eventually be posted over at the Aziola Cry website.

New Site Design

Welcome to the redesign of my site. The purpose of this change was to distance it from the Aziola Cry site and allow for a more open dialog of my musical activities. The news section will not only include the typical news worthy items but will also be a space for blog-like posts of any recording projects, gigs, etc. that I have going on. Outside of Aziola Cry, I have many new exciting projects currently underway. As they become more solidified and as recordings become complete, I will be adding them to the music section. Also, the calendar will look bare for the next few months as I concentrate on finishing up some recordings before gigging again.

Thanks to Dennis Ramirez F.ree T.hinkers M.ovement for his hard work and creativity in building this site.
